Our Internet testing utilizes data centers in several regions around the world. After you select the regions that are most relevant to you, they are used to filter the reporting and alerting of test results. Our recommendation, to avoid excessive alerts, is to select the closest region(s) to the location of the I/O Monitor.

A general rule of thumb is that when Internet issues only impact a single region at a time, the problem is likely far from your home. However, if both regions of a pair are impacted at exactly the same time it is more likely to be an issue with your Internet connection (or very close to it within your ISP). In this case, it could also be a problem with a common component within your home such as your cable/DSL modem or router.
